How To Use The Therabody App

With the launch of Therabody’s new 4th generation line of Theragun’s, they also launched a brand new Therabody App. The app is a hybrid of an educational tool and a percussive therapy coach. It’s available in both the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

While in it’s simplest use, a Theragun or any massage gun is a fantastic tool and really easy to use. Ultimately you just use it wherever you’re uncomfortable. However, with percussive therapy, you can really take the use much further and the app teaches you how to appropriately target specific areas for specific needs.

Not only can it educate you, but it also gets to know you and coach you. Through integration with Apple Health, Google Health and Samsung Health, it tracks your health data and get to know which routines could benefit you.

Educational Tool

As an educational tool, the Therabody App is great. It very simply guides you through the process of how to treat any variety of areas or ailments, while also providing you instant feedback as to how correctly you are massaging. It guides you as to which grip you should be using on your Theragun (standard, based, reverse or false) and also recommends which attachment head is best for each routine or area. The app comes fully integrated with 43 different routines, which are broken down into three categories: Activites, Body, and Ailments. Below we expand on which routines fall under each category.

Coach

Not only does this app help educate you on how you should be utilizing your Theragun in each area, but it also provides you with instant feedback to let you know how you’re doing with your massage. As soon as you select a routine, the app takes control – managing the speed of your device as well as providing notification for well timed transitions from area to area. As you massage, you can view the amount of pressure you are applying to the treatment area and the app provides feedback on if you are going too light or too strong. Certainly you can go off personal preference, but it is beneficial to have the feedback and actually see the force and speed being graphed.
