Theragun PRO

Introducing Theragun PRO

Theragun seems to be in the mood to update their entire line of products as well as introduce a few new items to us as they’ve been hinting on their social media so what better time than now to release an upgrade to the Theragun G3Pro. They are calling the upgrade simply, Theragun PRO.

At first glance, this device looks to be the same as the G3Pro but it is so much more. The new device is speculated to launch on May 4 (via Theragun’s Instagram), but you can learn about it today. See below to learn what is new and different!

What Are The Theragun PRO Specifications?

The Theragun PRO has taken all the great features from their top of the line G3Pro and made them better, as well as providing us with some new features. While this is designed to be used by professionals (therapists, chiropractors, athletic trainers, etc.) it is a fantastic device for anyone looking for a top of the line massager. To start, the device will have a stall force of 60 pounds and a stroke length of 16 mm. It will be powered by a removable, 16V Lithium-Ion battery (which they provide two of). These batteries have a life of 2.5 hours (dependent on speed used at) and it takes them approximately 75 min to recharge. The benefit of two batteries is you can always have a charged device by swapping a dead battery for a fully-charged one. The weight of the Theragun PRO is 3.8 pounds and measures approximately 10 inches x 7 inches x 3 inches.

How Many Speeds Does Theragun PRO Have?

It offers 5 different speeds as well as a customized speed function. The lowest speed is 1,750 percussions per minute, followed by 1900, 2100, 2200, and 2400 percussion per minute options. The custom speed function can be enabled by connecting your device to Theragun’s bluetooth app and allows you to select any speed between 1,750-2,400 percussions per minute.

What Comes With The Theragun PRO?

Out of the box, buyers can expect pretty much the same items as the G3Pro. There is a sturdy case, which houses the device, power adapted, two batteries, and all attachments. It comes with 6 different attachments for using on various treatment areas. Those attachments are a standard ball, a dampener, a wedge, a cone, a thumb and a new attachment called Supersoft. Supersoft replaces the large ball attachment that was provided with the G3Pro. A small zippered pouch is included for the attachment heads.

How Portable Is The Theragun PRO?

Like most massage guns, the Theragun PRO does come with it’s own carrying case, which makes it easy to transport. However, it is one of the larger and heavier massage guns on the market so you may want to consider taking only what you need. If size and weight are of a big concern, consider looking into the Theragun Mini.

What Makes The Theragun PRO Different From Other Massage Guns?

Simply put, Theragun has one of the best build qualities of all massage guns on the market. Also, they are a brand that is truly developing products to help people and not looking to produce products quick and fast. They take their time and they do it right. I would compare them to Apple, but in the percussion massage and recovery space. That being said, the PRO does have some features that stand out among other devices.

Batteries

Theragun is the only company we’ve seen that provides 2 batteries with their device. While this does likely add to an increase in price, for a professional who is using this for long periods of time throughout the day, this is a game-changer. No more waiting for your device to charge. Simply slip in a charged battery to replace a dead one and continue massaging – your patients will not even know.

OLED screen with Force Meter

The Theragun PRO includes an OLED screen on the back spine, which displays the force being applied to the treatment area. While this is not entirely unique (Hypervolt added this capability first) it is a nice touch, especially for professionals as they can communicate with their patients and make notes of how much pressure was used on them during treatment.

Custom Speed

While the PRO comes with 5 pre-set speeds, which are not unique at all, it does come with the capability to select a custom speed anywhere from 1,750 – 2,400 percussions per minute. To do this, users need to connect their device to their smart phone via bluetooth. They can then adjust the speed via the Theragun app – pretty cool!

Unique Attachments

Theragun provides some of the best attachment heads to their devices. They are made of a firm foam material and they have some unique shapes (wedge and thumb) that many others try to copy but do not always succeed. Additionally, they’ve introduced a new soft attachment called the Supersoft, which can be used for gentle treatment.

What Makes The Theragun PRO So Effective At Deep Muscle Treatment?

Therabody has been leading the way in the percussive therapy space since 2007. Their devices are effective at producing various results for many different users. Therabody describes their effectiveness on their website as follows:

The Theragun PRO has a 16mm amplitude that reaches 60% deeper into the muscle than consumer-grade vibration massagers to stimulate circulation, generate heat, and release your deepest tension. Thanks to a remarkably quiet, proprietary brushless motor that delivers the signature Theragun power, amplitude, and effectiveness, this professional percussive therapy device stands in a league of its own.

What’s up everybody and welcome to Best Massage Tech where I review the best massage technology, recovery devices, tools and gear. And now apparently I break news as well. Last night I posted a video announcing the release of the TheraGun Mini. I’m back today to announce another product that TheraGun is going to be releasing.

They’ve been hinting at a few different releases on their Instagram this morning. They posted it in another video with a blurred out picture of the next device saying that it’s going to launch May 4th. Today’s May 3rd so it’s going to be launching tomorrow. And that product is the TheraGun PRO. Now this isn’t actually the product, but the TheraGun PRO looks nearly identical to the TheraGun G3PRO, which has quickly become one of my favorite massage guns. I love the TheraGun brand. I think it’s a great built quality, great customer service.

With the TheraGun PRO, they do look to just be making some upgrades to the TheraGun G3PRO, but there’s some pretty cool upgrades with that. So I’m going to jump into some of the specs of what that TheraGun PRO is going to have and then we’ll just talk about how this is going to differ a little bit from the G3PRO.

So the TheraGun PRO is going to have a stall force of 60 pounds. It’s going to have a stroke length of 16 millimeters, so nothing different there from the G3PRO. It’s going to come with six different attachments, which again is the same as the G3PRO. So you’re going to get your dampener, your standard ball, your wedge, your cone, your thumb attachment. But then we’re going to be introduced to a new attachment called Super Soft. Super Soft is going to replace the large ball and it’s going to be a much softer attachment head for real gentle area massaging.

Next, it’s going to be a five-speed device. So the TheraGun G3PRO, here is only a two-speed device. The TheraGun PRO is going to be five speeds. So you’re going to get speeds that start at a 1750, then go to 1900, then 2100, 2220 and 2400 percussions per minute. But where it gets really cool is you have the ability to customize that speed anywhere between 1750 percussions per minute, all the way up to 2400 percussions per minute by connecting it with their Bluetooth app. Through that app integration, you can select any speed and percussions per minute from that range that their device offers. So pretty cool there.

It is going to be adjustable up to four different angles, so similar to this one, you’re going to be able to do a couple different angles with the massage head. The battery life is going to be two and a half hours. It’s going to be about 75 minutes to recharge that battery and just like the G3PRO, you’re going to get two of those batteries. The battery will be removable and that’s a 16-volt lithium ion battery.

In terms of noise, I don’t know exactly what it’s going to measure in decibels, but I do anticipate that it will be once again quieter than the G3PRO, which was quieter than its predecessor, the G2PRO. TheraGun is introducing a new technology called Quiet Force Technology that they’ve integrated into all of their new product lines, so including that TheraGun Mini and now the TheraGun PRO. So expect a quieter device. It is going to be a little bit heavy, 2.8 pounds, but those of you that are used to the G3PRO shouldn’t expect much different as that’s a pretty heavy massage gun to begin with.

The measurements are going to be 10 inches by 7.1 inches by three inches. It will come with a case and the price point when it initially launches is going to be $599. Now a couple other unique things that you can expect with this TheraGun PRO. It is going to have an OLED screen. So on the back of the G3PRO, you see the power button? That whole power button in this area here is going to be replaced by an OLED screen, and with that OLED screen you’re going to be able to see your speed. You’re also going to be able to see how much force you’re applying. So on that OLED screen there’s going to be a force meter that tells you how much force you’re applying to the area you’re massaging.

And then lastly, it’s just that app integration, which will be something really unique and new to the TheraGun line. With that, you do have the customizable speed, but there’s also going to be three preset guided routines that are going to be built in. That’ll just walk you through. I’m anticipating PRObably different speeds that’s going to fluctuate and vary through those guided, maybe tell you where and what attachments to use. So pretty cool there. I know that’s a big question that a lot of people have is, “Hey, how do I hit my shoulder blade?” “How do I hit my quad?” “What attachments should I be using?” So maybe those preset guided routines would help with that.

So I’m really excited to check out the TheraGun PRO, again, according to their Instagram. It is launching May 4th, so stay tuned. I am anticipating to see that on their website soon. If you do have any questions, go ahead and drop them in the comments. I basically shared everything I know. But if you do want to know something about another massage gun or how it might compare to some of the other TheraGun lines, go ahead and drop in the comments.

I do always appreciate those that consider subscribing. If you like this type of news, if you like learning about other massage guns, please consider subscribing to the channel. I will put a link in the description where I’ve compared over 25 different massage guns where you can get access to that spreadsheet comparing all those different devices.

And I’ve got a few other things up my sleeve in terms of TheraGun where I think I know where some of their other products might be going based on their social media posts. It seems like they have been hinting each post is a different product. So, so far potentially four new products. I have in my mind, in addition to the TheraGun PRO and the TheraGun Mini, possibly four other products that they might be launching. So if you’re curious, please consider following the channel. If this video gets a lot of likes today, I’ll consider releasing what I think at least two of those other products might be. Thanks for watching.
