So Theragun has been hinting at a new product drop on their Instagram using the hashtag #TheragunDrops. The new product they will be revealing is the Theragun Mini. Theragun has always been ahead of the curve in developing cutting edge devices for percussion therapy. They were the innovators of nearly an entire industry when they launched the first Theragun and followed suit with the evolution of the G3Pro and the rest of the massage gun line (Liv and G3). With that being said, it’s no surprise that they continue to be an industry leader and innovator with the Mini. Ultimately, I know all anyone cares about is what it looks like and what the specs are so see below!
What Is The Theragun Mini?
The Theragun Min is the smallest percussion massager available from Therabody. According to Theragun’s website, the device is described as a
…portable treatment packed with power, providing Theragun quality, anytime, anywhere. Theragun mini is your pocket-sized partner, giving you Theragun quality muscle treatment with unparalleled portability. Compact but powerful, Theragun mini is the most agile massage device that goes wherever you do.

Specifications and Key Features
The device, which is “about” the size of your palm, can easily be used with one hand and fit nearly anywhere. They are calling this their pocket-sized treatment option with unparalleled portability. With its overall weight and size dimensions, they’ve created an extremely ergonomic device.
Out of the box, Theragun Mini buyers will get the device itself, a soft case, a power adapter and one standard ball attachment. However, the device will be compatible with their fourth generation attachments.
It will have a stroke length of 12 mm and have an internal 12V Lithium-ion battery.
Following suit of its name, the Theragun Mini will weigh only 1.2 pounds and measure 5.4 inches x 4.3 inches x 1.6 inches. This will be by far the smallest percussion massage device the market has seen.
What Is The Battery Life On The Theragun Mini?
The battery will have a single charge life-cycle of 150 minutes and will take approximately 80 minutes to re-charge.
How Many Speeds Does The Theragun Mini Have?
The mini will be a multi-speed device, offering three different speeds. The speeds are 1750, 2100, and 2400 percussions per minute. While it only comes equipped with the 3 speed options, users will have the ability to select their own speed in the Therabody app, when their device is connected via bluetooth. The range that users will be able to select from will be between 1750-2400 percussions per minute.
How Powerful Is The Theragun Mini?
This is still to be determined. With a device so small, it likely will not have a high stall force as it won’t be able to have a very large motor. Additionally, when paired with a 12 mm stroke length, it certainly won’t pack the same amount of punch as the Theragun G3 or Theragun G3Pro, which both boast an amplitude of 16 mm.
How Loud Is The Theragun Mini?
This is also yet to be determined, but the assumption is that this will be the quietest device of the Theragun line based on the items described above (small amplitude and small motor). They were able to provide the same sort of sound insulation as their other models and are calling it Quiet Force Technology.
How To Use The Theragun Mini
In general, users can utilize the Theragun Mini in the same fashion they would any of their other Theragun devices – massaging any area of the body in need of attention. The difference being that the Mini is much smaller and easier to manuever – reaching anywhere your hand can reach.
To turn the Theragun Mini on, firmly press and hold the power/speed button on the side of the device. It’s not the easiest location for a power button, but the location prevents it from accidentally being bumped.
Once powered on, it can be used by gradually applying light to moderate pressure to any treatment area. To change the speed of the device, simply press the power/speed button again to toggle between the three different speeds. To power the device off, press and hold the power/speed button firmly until the device powers off.
Attachments
While the Theragun Mini only comes with one standard ball attachment, all of the 4th generation attachments are able to be utilized on this device. The 4th generation attachments are any of them that are compatible with the G3Pro and G3 – the attachments from the first-generation Liv will not be compatible. To attach, align the attachment with the tip of the shaft and push to connect. To remove, simply grip the attachment and pull it off.
Battery
The Theragun Mini should be charged only when it is turned off. After turning the device off, plug the power adapter into the charging port of the Theragun Mini. Once plugged in, the LED light on the power/speed button will begin to flash until the device is fully charged. Once charging is fully completed, the LED light will illuminate in solid green. While in use, the battery level is continuously displayed on the LED light of the power/speed button. Users can view the battery level while the device is off by quickly pressing the power/speed button, which will reveal the battery charge level. The battery charge level is indicated by the following color LED lights on the power/speed button.
Flashing red = low charge
Flashing blue = halfway charged
Flashing green = high charge
Solid green = Mini is fully charged
Where To Buy The Theragun Mini
The Mini will first be available on Theragun’s website. Interested buyers may also be able to find the Theragun Mini on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

What’s up everybody, and welcome to Best Massage Tech, where I review the best massage technology, recovery devices, tools, and gear. Today I’m here to share some really exciting news. Those of you that follow my channel know that I’m a big fan of Theragun and their products, specifically their G3PRO. I oftentimes mention in my comments that it is my personal favorite massage gun. I also use it in a lot of videos as the standard that I compare some of my other devices to when I’m reviewing them. But recently on their social media, Theragun has been dropping some hints at a new product that they might be releasing. Over the last few weeks, specifically on their Instagram, they’ve been showing short little videos with the hashtag #makewaves. In those videos, they show somebody reaching into the back of a backpack, some text comes across that says something like, “Take a small break.” That’s what really leads me to believe I know what that product’s going to be.
Before I tell you guys what that product is, I do just want to say that this is all entirely speculation at this point, so if I’m wrong with this, go ahead and torch me in the comments, but I do feel pretty confident that this is the device that they’re going to be releasing pretty shortly here. The device is something unlike you’ve ever seen before in the percussion therapy space. This is something that’s going to be much smaller than anything you’ve ever seen. This space, the product is called the Theragun Mini.
Now, this device is something that you might originally think, “Okay, is it just a small massage gun? Maybe it’s just like the G3PRO, but smaller.” Well, you’d be partially right in that guess, if you basically take the handle of this and cut it off to leave you with only this blue circle and the attachment head. Now, to call it the Theragun Mini, obviously it’s going to have to be something that’s really small. The best thing in my house that I could find to compare to what the size of this device is going to be is my pizza cutter.
The measurements of the actual device are going to be 5.4 inches by 4.3 inches by 1.6 inches. When you think about it, it really is about this big and it’s really not much bigger than your cell phone that you probably have in your pocket. The only real difference is that it’s going to be a little bit thicker. I mean, you’re talking 1.6, it’s about one and a half inches, which is really the same size as this pizza cutter handle, which is really impressive when you think of a massage gun for how small it is and what it might be capable of doing.
The weight of the device is going to be 1.2 pounds, so extremely light. It is going to be a three-speed device. The speeds on that are going to start at 1,750 percussions per minute. The second speed is going to be 2,100 percussions per minute, and the top speed is going to be 2,400 percussions per minute. Now, on this device it is going to have a stroke length of 12 millimeters. Now, stroke length, that’s the distance that this massage head moves away from the device. If you’re thinking of just this blue circle, it’s going to be about with the device moving 12 millimeters away. Now, that’s a lot smaller than this G3PRO. This has got a 16 millimeter amplitude or stroke length. So it is going to be probably a little bit more vibrational, but certainly something like that is expected with a smaller device.
The attachments that come with it are just going to be the standard ball attachment. Now, with that standard ball attachment, you are going to have the ability to use any of the fourth-generation attachments. That’s any of the attachment heads that come with your Theragun G3 or any of the attachments that come with the G3PRO. Now, the one exclusion is going to be any of the first-generation Liv attachments. Those don’t attach the same way, so those will not be compatible with the Theragun Mini, but it certainly is nice if you do have a G3 or G3PRO, you’ll be able to use some of those attachments if you are interested in buying the Theragun Mini.
It will have a built-in, rechargeable 12-volt lithium ion battery. That’s going to go for about two and a half hours depending on what speed you’re using it on and to recharge it, it’s only going to take 15 minutes, so it’s a pretty quick recharge. It is going to come with a soft case and the price point when it’s going to first launch is going to be right around $200.
Now, the things that I don’t know about it is the noise. I don’t know how loud this is going to be. My speculation is that given how small it is and that the stroke length is pretty small, it will be a pretty quiet device. But it’s not going to have a huge motor and because of that, I don’t know what the stall force is. I don’t know what amount of force you’re going to be able to put against that that’s going to stall that device out. But given how small it is, I don’t think that’s something that the general consumer that’s interested in this device is going to necessarily care about.
They’re going to care about how compact it is, how light it is, and how easily it can fit in their backpack or bag and just be able to take it somewhere quick, whether you’re going to practice in the gym and you don’t want to take a full device with you or maybe you’re just traveling and you’re flying a lot and it’s just easier to take something smaller. I really think that is the target demographic with this. Obviously, at this lower price point it is something that might be a good introductory device for someone that is curious about getting a percussion massager and isn’t sure if they want to spend the money on a full Theragun.
A few other things. I don’t know when this device is going to launch. Based on when they are hinting and how often they’re hinting in their social media, my guess is probably within the next two weeks. I do think that they did intend to release this probably a few weeks ago, but with coronavirus going around I think it probably put a little bit of a delay on that release, but yeah. So that’s really exciting news to share. I hope you guys are excited, I’m excited. Theragun, if you’re watching this, Jason Wersland, if you’re watching this, I would love to be one of the first to check this device up. I’m sure it’s a surprise that I am sending this video out, but I am excited that I am able to share that news, again, and it is all speculation at this point, so if I’m wrong, I’m wrong, but I don’t think I’m wrong.
But I will go ahead and include some links in my description. Those of you that are new to the channel, I do compare a lot of different massage guns on this channel. I’ve got a spreadsheet where I review over 25 different massage guns on 12 different categories. You can get access to that. I’ll put a link in the description.
